Kit Evolution Part 1

Wild camping and mountain marathons…

Today I thought I’d post a quick entry about how we’ve built up our kit over the years. The first list is what we used on The Gower a few years ago, the second is our kit list for the 2015 OMM – I hope it’s useful for those just starting out.

Both these lists are for a 1 to 2 day “wild” camp (we didn’t actually wild camp the Gower, but the principal was the same!). Watch this space for another post on food and others on climbing and mountaineering kit.Kit

1 x OMM Classic 32L Rucksack
1 x Falling apart Eurohike 30L Rucksack
1 x 2 man tent bought in Aldi in the ’90’s
2 x cut down rollmats (cut to shape of body)
1 x Berghaus 850 Flare 1-2 season sleeping bag (this is NOT a warm bag. Top tip for those that don’t mind getting cosy and have one bag warmer than the other: zip both bags together, put the colder one on the bottom)
1 x Mountain Equipment starlight I 2 season sleeping bag
1 x pocket rocket and gas, knife, lighter, FA kit
